Henry (Hank) D. James serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor, for Risk Management, Safety and Security (RMSS). He has more than 40 years of risk management and insurance experience—the last 20 years in higher education. Prior to higher education, he spent more than 10 years in the health care industry. He holds MBA’s in General Business and Strategic Leadership and maintains the following professional designations/certifications; Associate in Risk Management – Public Entity, Associate in Risk Management – Enterprise-Wide Risk Management, Associate in Risk Management (all through The Institute), Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter Designation (American Institute), RIMS Fellow (RIMS) Fellow in Risk Management (Global Institute). He is the recipient of the Leadership North Carolina (LNC), Certificate of Achievement- Class XVII (2010). He is also licensed in the State of Florida as a Health Care Risk Manager. Over the years he has had professional affiliations in Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS), University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA), Public Risk and Insurance Management Association (PRIMA), American Society for Health Care Risk Management (ASHRM) and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
