David Coleman is the Associate Director of Support Services here at UNC Charlotte Police and Public Safety. Coleman was the former Chief/Executive Director of Public Safety and Security for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for 7 years prior to joining the department in June 2010. Coleman’s early career began at the Fort Wayne Police Department serving 25 years where he retired in 1999 and held the rank of Assistant Chief of Police. Within his well-respected career spanning 4 decades, David, a graduate of the FBI National Academy, also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management. Coleman also completed the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development (LEEDA) program and the United States Secret Service National Threat Assessment training.
